Live in the Lab

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club grew out of a Bay Area high school friendship between Robert Levon Been and Peter Hayes. Hayes had just left the seminal California band The Brian Jonestown Massacre; fans of that band (like our own Adam 12) note some sonic similarities between BJM & early BRMC.

Live in the Lab: Street Dogs
Live in the Lab

Boston punk legends Street Dogs continued their “Wreck The Halls” holiday tradition a stop by RadioBDC prior to a pair of shows at Paradise Rock Club.

Frontman (and former Boston Globe employee!) Mike McColgan, born and raised in Dorchester, started his punk rock career as a founding member and lead singer of the Dropkick Murphys. He left the Murphys in 1998 to become a firefighter for the Boston Fire Department, but felt music calling to him, so in 2002 he founded Street Dogs. He took a leave of absence from the BFD in 2004 and has been devoting his time to Street Dogs ever since.

Live in the Lab

Dropkick Murphys played a Live in the Lab set for a small crowd at our Morrissey Boulevard locale. The Boston celtic punk and hardcore staple entertained the crowd with seven songs, including their recently released holiday song “The Season’s Upon Us.”

Dropkick Murphys are getting set to release their eighth studio album, “Signed and Sealed in Blood” (pre-order here) in early January. At that time, the band will kick off a worldwide tour in Dublin that will wind its way to Boston on and around … you guessed it … St. Patrick’s Day.
