Blue Hills Brewery showered us in their fine, locally-brewed beers this morning. Well, not literally. It's not like we're the Red Sox and we just beat the Rays to advance to the 2013 ALCS. We're just a bunch of humble radio folk who love their beer and want you to know more about the fine brews Blue Hills has to offer. More
We sure do love our neighbors here at RadioBDC. Especially those neighbors who bring us beer.
Our friend and neighbor (and beard enthusiast) Pete Boyd popped in with a cooler full of Narragansett on Friday morning. Of course, there were the classic tall boys. But he also brought along a couple of newer 'Gansett brews. More
Everyone’s favorite reason why the Beatles broke up, Yoko Ono, has never shied away from the weirder side of things. Last night on The Late Show with David Letterman was no different. If our pal Kelly Mackin is involved in something, you know it’s something sweet. Half Baked Cafe in Beverly Farms is that and more: sweet, tasty, local, and 100% nut-free. Forward-thinking, right? Kelly and Craig from Half Baked dropped in on Henry and Julie this morning, with plenty of goodies in tow. Brooklyn quartet Parquet Courts came in storming last Fall with their debut LP Light Up Gold. Next Tuesday, the band will release their follow-up EP, Tally All the Things That You Broke on What’s Your Rupture?, but you can stream the whole damn thing right here, right now. First up on this week’s Music Video Roundup is the ultimate Canadian supergroup. Arcade Fire is flawless and everything they touch turns to gold. This isn’t actually a music video but it is the video for their performance of their single “Reflektor” from the season premiere of Saturday Night Live. The Vaccines stopped by our Morrissey Boulevards studios for a great four-song set in early October. Above is the song, “Everybody’s Gonna Let You Down.” Check out the rest of the live show below. You may not be able to enjoy a national park or the Smithsonian today, but Mike Bello isn’t shut down! We have a lack of federal services, but not a lack of commentary. Listen to the Globe’s deputy metro editor discuss the shutdown this morning on RadioBDC. Chvrches’ frontwoman Lauren Mayberry deserves an enthusiastic round of applause for her candid criticism of online misogyny. As we learned earlier this month when the band stopped by for a Live in The Lab session, Mayberry does not hesitate when voicing her opinion.
