Chvrches’ frontwoman Lauren Mayberry deserves an enthusiastic round of applause for her candid criticism of online misogyny. As we learned earlier this month when the band stopped by for a Live in The Lab session, Mayberry does not hesitate when voicing her opinion. No Chad Finn this week: he’s covering Celtics media day. So it’s just Steve Silva and Adam 12, a couple of regular guys shooting the baseball breeze over beers (without the beers, of course). Chvrches are a Scottish synthpop band from Glasgow. Formed in 2011, Chvrches came fifth on the BBC’s Sound of 2013 list of the most promising new music talent. They stopped by RadioBDC for a Live in the Lab performance, featuring the song “The Mother We Share.” British singer/songwriter Frank Turner visited RadioBDC for a Live in the Lab performance in late July. Portugal. The Man is a rock band out of Wasilla, Alaska, and recently played a Live in the Lab session at RadioBDC headquarters. Here the band performed “Purple Yellow Red & Blue” off their latest album, Evil Friends, on May 24, 2013.
