First medical marijuana ad hits major networks

Would you buy your sushi from some sketchy dude in a trench coat who is spitting you some really edgy sushi jargon that only a real sushihead would know what to do with? Of course you wouldn’t, so why buy your weed off of some random guy on the street too? It’s brilliant comparisons like this that are sure to connect with stoners around the country, and it’s the campaign that is being used in the first medical marijuana advertisement to air on a major network.

The Verge reports that Comcast began airing the commercial yesterday on Fox, CNN, ESPN, Comedy Central, AMC, and Discovery, among a number of other networks throughout New Jersey and Chicago. Next week, Massachusetts will also be seeing this. It will only air between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. and will not run alongside any family content. What are your thoughts? Does it make you want to stop buying your pot from that dude who wears sweatpants all day and watches the “Planet Earth” box set on repeat?
